The Cost of Living Crisis has become a national emergency. Constituents have been contacting me every day as the price of food, energy, clothing and housing go up while their wages buy less and less. This affects businesses too, with many businesses in my constituency facing spiralling costs which they do not want to pass onto customers.

The UK Government have failed to bring bills down sufficiently this winter, squandering the chance to implement a proper windfall tax which would help the poorest and most vulnerable in our society.

Labour would have used a windfall tax to help those most in need, insulate over 19 million homes, invest £28m in stable and dignified green British jobs.

Britain’s energy resources should be British-owned, while the Chinese Communist Party owns a stake in our nuclear industry and 5 million Brits pay their energy bills to a French company.

On this part of my website, I want to outline some of the resources that constituents can use to help them through the Cost of Living Crisis and Cost of Doing Business Crisis, as well as contact details for those who can assist.

Constituents can find resources from the City of Edinburgh Council for helping with the Cost of Living Crisis here.
