COP26
COP26

To meet our net zero targets, it will be necessary to transform the way we think about food and agriculture. Production, packaging, transportation, importing, and food waste are all important aspects which we will need to deal with if we are to stick to our commitments.

As part of my ongoing engagement with constituents in the run up to COP26 I am holding a digital engagement session on food and agriculture on 1st July at 6pm. We will be joined by some great local groups:

  • Transition Edinburgh South who will discuss some of the work they are doing at Gracemount walled garden to promote suitable food production.
  • Bridgend Farmhouse to discuss the emergency food bank they ran during the pandemic.

Please register in advance for the meeting here.

The broad aim of these events is the creation of an Edinburgh South climate manifesto which we will present to COP26 and world leaders.

Participation in these meetings is crucial so if you have any insights or anything you would like to see locally or nationally please do come along and chip in.
