I was delighted to be asked to open the recently refurbished Day-Today Convenience Store on Gilmerton Dykes Street earlier this month.

It was great to meet the store’s manager, Mr Ahmed, and I even had a little help from two familiar faces!

Shops like Day-Today are at the heart of our communities and offer an invaluable service to local people. Now more than ever it is vital for the Government to support small businesses such as Mr Ahmed’s and I wish him the best of luck with his newly refurbished store.
