Ian Murray Working Hard for Edinburgh South
Last week I visited Gracemount High School to take part in their•Independence Referendum•debate.• The School’s Modern Studies department did a tremendous job organising this fun event for the pupils to help them engage with the Referendum.

•
Pupils on both sides of the debate raised excellent points and it was clear how passionate many were to their beliefs. A number of the students were uncertain over some of the issues before the event, however the participants made a fantastic effort to highlight the key factors and explain the finer details of the debate.
•
It cannot be underestimated how important these type of events are.• In just a few months time thousands of our young adults will be making, potentially, the biggest decision of their lives. It is therefore, our duty to help educate them so that they are better prepared it for and can make a decision that they are satisfied with.

A big thank you to the staff and pupils who all made me feel very welcome. It was amazing to see them all getting on so well and being so enthusiastic about politics.
