Ian Murray Working Hard for Edinburgh South
In the aftermath of the•terrible attack on an elderly ladyin her own home recently, I want to reassure all my constituents that local police are taking all the necessary steps to ensure we continue to be safe in our community.
•
Whilst we should remember that incidents of this nature are extremely rare, taking small steps such as keeping doors and windows locked will help to prevent crimes like this happen again. Everyone in the local community, especially those in the Craiglea area of Morningside, need to be extra vigilant with keeping their house secure.

Chief Inspector Richard Horan, area commander for Edinburgh South, reiterated this advice yesterday and also reassured members of the community that patrols were being stepped up with extra uniformed officers out on the street. Police are also keen to provide home security advice to the public, covering both doorstep crime and home security advice.
