Ahead of the General Election, I made a big commitment…a commitment that if I was re-elected to let pupils from St Peter’s Primary drench me with wet sponges at their Splat the MP! stall at their summer fete.

I was more than happy to keep my word after being re-elected on 7 May. It was clear the pupils had practiced a lot before the fete! It was a great cause worth taking a few splats for. The fete managed to raise a record-breaking £4,500 – congratulations to all the parents, pupils and teachers involved.
