Shortly before Parliament rose for the Summer Recess, I spent a great day at Farnborough International Airshow in Hampshire.

This biannual event is an important date in the international aerospace and defence sector’s calendar and I had the opportunity to meet with representatives from a number of industry leaders including Leonardo, Saab, Rolls Royce and BAE.

I was also given a tour of a number of Airbus aircraft including a rescue helicopter, military plane and an Airbus A350. Sitting in the pilot’s seat of the A350 was a personal highlight, as was seeing the flying display at the end of the day.

I’m already looking forward to the next airshow in 2018 and many thanks to ADS for organising such a fantastic and varied programme.
