I was delighted to meet with a group of senior sociology students to discuss the role of an MP and how I got into politics.

We discussed my school years at Wester Hailes Education Centre and the publication of school league tables, which I believe, are useless and do not accurately measure the performance of schools. The pupils also had some interesting questions on Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.•

They are entering their exam period which is, of course, a very stressful time for all pupils.• Good luck to them all.
