Scottish Gas Network will soon be replacing existing metal gas mains with modern plastic pipe in the Grange. If left undisturbed, •the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years, meaning that once the work is complete, local residents will be able to enjoy a continued safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. However these works will inevitably cause some disruption.

My colleague Daniel Johnson MSP has met with SGN recently to stress proper communication with those affected -; particularly local businesses. The works are expected to be carried out in June 2018. However, an exact start date has yet to be set.

On Friday the 18th May I will be hosting a drop-in session where representatives from SGN will be able to answer questions from residents and business owners. The drop-in session will take place from 1pm-4pm in my constituency office at 31 Minto Street, Edinburgh, EH9 2BT.

More details on the format of the drop-in session will shortly be forthcoming. If interested, please email (ian.murray.mp@parliament.uk) and I will be in touch with more information.
