Welcome to my latest e-Magazine.

You can read previous newsletters here as well as the regular COVID-19 updates I have been sending out to constituents. However, the information in my previous COVID-19 updates may have been superseded by government announcements so please refer to Scottish Government website information below.

This month’s edition is a combination of the COVID-19 as well as some local and parliamentary updates.

Scottish Government health advice is updated regularly, please keep updated via the Scottish Government website. Information on schools return in August is also changing frequently and information can be found on the council website.

My team and I continue to receive an unprecedented level of correspondence and appreciate your patience with us answering lobby requests as we prioritise constituent inquiries and issues

Edinburgh South

20/02489/FUL | Erection of 112 bed spaces of student accommodation (amendment to planning permission 16/04158/FUL). | 200 Mayfield Road Edinburgh EH9 3BE

A previous application to build 80 bed spaces of student accommodation was approved. This application would increase that to 120 spaces. Comments have now closed but you can view the application using the above reference.

20/02562/FUL | Demolition of existing hotel and redevelopment of the site for purpose built student accommodation including landscaping and all ancillary development. | Northfield House Hotel 115 Lasswade Road Edinburgh EH16 6UD

Comments have also closed on this application but I know it has attracted a lot of interest locally. It will go to the Development Management Sub Committee for councillors to make a decision on.

20/02468/PPP | Residential development including associated access, landscaping and servicing. | Land At South Gilmerton Farm Ravenscroft Street Edinburgh

This is a ‘development in principle’ application so a full application will still need to be submitted but residents may be worried that the only building on the site to be retained is the farmhouse.

Comments can be submitted until 7 August.
