Following the roundtable organised by Daniel Johnson MSP and me in April we were assured by the Council and Police Scotland that there would be an increased police presence, more public toilets and permanent CCTV installed at Meadows Place Lane.

Police numbers were increased substantially, albeit temporarily, in the weeks following the latest period of serious anti-social behaviour and partial CCTV was installed in May. After a frustrating wait we now have additional free public toilets situated on Middle Meadow Walk.

The Council had been having difficulties with both the procurement of the toilets and the building warrants, but I am pleased to confirm that temporary toilets are now fully operational.

Temporary toilets are not, of course, a long term solution and I will continue to campaign for increased provision of public toilets at the Meadows and around the city as well as prevention in the residential areas that have been used as a public toilet for too long.
