Residents deserve proper services and local infrastructure, but many people – both new and longstanding residents – have told me about the serious issues they’re facing with GP access. From long wait times for appointments to surgeries no longer taking new patients, it’s clear the system is at breaking point.

Our hardworking doctors and nurses are doing a heroic job, but they need proper support. The Scottish Government and the City of Edinburgh Council must ensure that new developments come with the right services and infrastructure, and that existing GP practices have the resources to expand and meet demand.
