Caitlin Paterson

My name is Caitlin Paterson and I am a 16 year old student from Edinburgh who attends Broughton High School. I am currently in my final year of high school studying – Spanish, History and Business all at higher level.

This year I applied to do some voluntary work with an organisation called Project Trust. Project Trust are an educational gap year charity who were established in 1967. They send roughly 300 volunteers a year overseas to – Africa, Asia and Latin America and offer projects in – Teaching English, Social Care and Outward Bound.

Fortunately I have been chosen out of the 300 people who are selected annually to go overseas to Chile with Project Trust next year (2019). During my year overseas I will be participating in a project called – TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). During my year in Chile I will be staying with a host family In the capital city – Santiago and I will be teaching in the local primary or secondary school. This opportunity will allow me to provide the children of whom are more deprived in education with skills in the English language and this will aid them In the future as it will provide them with a range of job opportunities.

Despite the fact that this is a once in a lifetime, amazing opportunity I need to raise a total of £6,200 to go overseas to Chile. I am currently planning small events to aid me towards this final target but I have set up a just giving page (inserted below) and would appreciate any donation however small or big. Thank you!
