Following a public consultation Post Office Ltd have now confirmed the proposed merger of Bruntsfield and Morningside Post Offices will go ahead. The new Post Office will open at 28-30 Morningside Rd on 21st March 2019.

Many constituents are also very worried about the futures of the Inch and Buckstone Post Offices, which have both been closed for some time now. I have written to Post Office Ltd again on this to press them to do more. However the nature of the franchise system (which I oppose) means that Post Office Ltd rely upon a private operator coming forward and agreeing to take over the Post Office as part of a new or existing business. Post Office Ltd will not themselves operate the Post Office.
