Local family firm Bernard Hunter are currently consulting on a new mixed development on their property at the corner of Gilmerton Station Road and Gilmerton Road.
The development will include business start-up units, a 60-bed hotel, community hall, medical hub, food store, neighbourhood shops and a café. There was a proposal for this site last year. However it was withdrawn because the Council said it included too many retail units. The applicants are now looking to get the views of the local community on their proposals.
A consultation drop-in session on the proposals was held in Gilmerton Library this month and a planning application will be submitted to the Council shortly. I will be keeping constituents updated but you can read more about the proposals here.
