Earlier in the summer I asked constituents in the area to get in touch to outline why the Green Belt at Liberton was important to them and their family. The responses I received have been fantastic with well over 100 letters from residents outlining a plethora of reasons why green space is important to the community.
As promised I have now collated all responses and written to the Chief Executive of the City of Edinburgh Council, copying in the Scottish Government Minister responsible for planning as well as the four Councillors for the Liberton / Gilmerton ward.
You may also be aware there has been an update in the Council’s City Plan 2030 timetable following the Scottish Government rejecting the Strategic Development Plan. The consultation period is set to commence on 9th December 2019. This will be an opportunity for all those opposed to development on our precious Green Belt to feed into the process.
