I have been working with Daniel Johnson and Cllr Mandy Watt to make Braid Road safer for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. More information on the initial public meeting and consultation here.

Update from Council:

“I appreciate that there has been sometime between my last update and this communication. However, I sought to share good news when I had that and not trouble you with any problems in the delivery of the improvements on Braid Road.

“The designs are complete and the scheme is ready for build, however, we encountered some difficulties with the procurement for the construction. We had hoped to have this resolved by the beginning of October, however due to an administration error via an external tendering portal, we have not yet awarded the tender for the work.

“The new Notice of Works currently has two weeks to run before closing and we will then award to the successful bidder. Once I have done so and met them, I will update you with an indication of the agreed timescales and work plan.

“I have set out in the Notice that work has to be undertaken as soon as possible and wish to assure you the works in Braid Road continue as a commitment for the Road Safety team; one that we wish to be completed for us all.”
