Gracemount

This month my office has had a few calls about anti-social behaviour in and around Gracemount Mansion.

I have been in contact with Sergeant Grant Robertson who has advised that the Police are aware of the issue and are increasing high visibility patrols in the area. This is being combined with a multi-agency approach to engage young people in the area and divert them away from anti-social behaviour.

On the Gracemount Mansion more generally, I have been urging the Council to reopen this facility as soon as possible. However, I understand the repair costs are in the region of £1.2 million and with the Council forced to make millions of pounds of cuts due to Scottish Government underfunding it is unlikely the mansion will be open again in the short term.

It is vital that residents feel safe in their communities. I will be receiving regular updates from the Police and will continue to monitor this issue closely. To report any instances of anti-social behaviour please continue to call 101.
