My office continues to be contacted regularly by constituents in the Inch who are rightly annoyed at commuters and hospital workers continuing to park in the estate.

I have spoken to the Council Road Department who are also frustrated by the lack of progress. As I understand it the Council are working through a series of priority parking proposals, one of which is the Inch, but progress is slow.

I have written to NHS Lothian to ask why buses cannot be run 24 hours, connecting the Royal Infirmary with the Straiton Park and Ride. This is not a silver bullet, but it would hopefully allow some NHS workers to make use of the park and ride, instead of driving into the city and possibly parking in the Inch.

With the Sick Kids (probably) opening this year and plans for further development at the BioQuarter this problem needs sorted urgently. I will continue to keep local residents updated.
