Ian Murray MP Working Hard for Edinburgh South
Residents in Moredun were left shocked when the Council posted letters around the area that were informing residents drilling would take place on the well-used green space adjacent to the high-rise flats. This was to investigate whether housing development would be suitable in the area.
This issue is long running and is a direct result of the area being included in the 2016 Local Development Plan as ‘suitable for development’. Fortunately, a well run campaign by locals means that the council has now stopped the drilling and has pledged not to recommence before the next local development plan is published. A great victory for the local community and the Moredun Multis & Maisonettes Residents Association. Well done.
