News that Sight Scotland plan to close Braeside House Care Home has come as a shock to residents and families.

I am incredibly disappointed residents have been left to find new accommodation in the midst of a global pandemic but I am working with residents, Sight Scotland and the Scottish Government to try to find a compromise solution. We are awaiting news from the Scottish Government on whether they can take on the home on a temporary basis and I have meet with both resident’s families and Sight Scotland to try to alleviate some of the main concerns families have.

I worked at the care home when I was a student as a kitchen porter. I loved every minute of it. I hope the residents and families can get a resolution and my office will do all we can to assist.
