I am delighted that after years of delay and millions of pounds wasted the Sick Kids Hospital has finally been relocated to the Little France site.

It feels like the end of an era for the Sciennes site which has served the area and the city for so long. All staff and children have now been relocated and the NHS has started to decommission the site. This process will take 8-12 weeks after which the developers, Downing will take control of the site and works will begin.

I understand that a commitment has been given by Downing to restore the wonderful Phoebe Traquair Murals in the Mortuary Chapel and discussions are ongoing with Historic Churches Scotland about them taking over the chapel and allowing public access to the murals.
