There has been a marked increase in youth anti-social behaviour in South Edinburgh and across the city recently.
Just recently Lothian Buses suspended all services from 7:30pm for a whole evening after buses were being attacked near the Royal Infirmary. Our key workers have been on the front line for the last 12 months protecting the health of the nation. What a disgraceful way to treat them.
Also there continue to be disturbances at the Meadows, Gracemount Mansion and Burdiehouse Burn Valley Park.
I understand that the Police, under operation Proust, are tackling this problem in the South East. Whether they have had a spontaneous or anticipated rise in youth disorder, they have initiated operation Proust which contains established plans and policing tactics.
I understand locals in some areas are worried and I will be meeting them as well as Police Scotland.
