“Remember the dead; fight for the living”

The 28th•of April marked International Workers Memorial Day, a day to remember those who went to work and never came home.

I attended a service in Princes Street Gardens, where the Lord Provost laid a wreath and made a short speech remembering those who have lost their lives at work. Particularly this year we were remembering the 10thanniversary of Stockline, in which nine people died, the 30th•anniversary of Bhopol, in which 25,000 people died and the first anniversary of Rana Plaza, in which 1,129 people died.

IWMDWorkers rights are incredibly important, and marking this day reminds us of their importance, and encourages us to continue to fight for improved conditions for all workers.
