This week I visited Gracemount High School, for the third annual Sportsfest.

The variety of the sports that were available was fantastic. The list included: football; taekwondo; golf; athletics; gymnastics; off road biking; hand ball; basketball; cricket; and dance. Fernieside Football Club were a great addition to the day, as well as all the other coaches from various sports clubs in Edinburgh South. The kids that were involved were clearly having a great time too, it was excellent to see the pupils positively engaging with sport.

Thankfully this year the weather mainly stayed dry, and so we were able to enjoy some of the sports outside -; including some golf, which I very much enjoyed!

The organiser, Stewart Laird, did a fantastic job at bringing such a mixture of sports to pupils at Gracemount High School, making connections between the school, pupils and sports clubs within and around the community.
