On the 12th of September, I had the pleasure of hosting the Inch Community Centre Fashion Show in aid of the new Children’s Wing. It was a really enjoyable evening and thanks to a fantastic effort from everyone involved, lots of money was raised for this great cause.

The Inch Community Centre in the south side of the city supports the local area by providing a wide range of activities for all ages. Their mission statement is ‘to provide the best inclusive and choice of programmed activities in partnership with our local community’, and the management committee have now decided to convert a previously unused section of the building into a new children’s wing.

The ground floor plan is to be for babies and toddlers. This would have permanent soft play area with space for many activities. Toilets would be for the use of this area only and would include child sized WCs and a nappy changing area. There•will be•a door into a secure garden which would allow play outside.

The upper floor will be for young teenagers and will have sofas, wi-fi, TV, a pool table and an arts and crafts room. The area will be supervised and the users will be involved in its running and range of activities.

All this means there will be a range of benefits for families of all ages in this part of the city, and that’s why I was delighted to support it.

You can find out more about what’s on offer at the community centre by checking out their Facebook pagehere.
