After a really interesting visit to James Gillespie’s High School last week, I wanted to highlight a couple of points that the School’s Modern Studies class had raised with me.

They were particularly interested in votes for 16 and 17 year olds, and wanted an update on that.• I also wanted to highlight the plight of British national Mohammed Asghar, who is the Grandfather of one of the students I met.• Mr Asghar is currently in prison in Pakistan under blasphemy laws despite being diagnosed with significant mental illness.
