Last week, many scientists and innovators presented their new technology ideas to a panel of experts in parliament as part of the SET for Britain initiative.

Graham Henderson, Clinical Scientist from the SMART Centre at the Astley Ainslie Hospital presented his innovative engineering research on how to develop a powered wheelchair control system using imaging technology.

Graham said, “On the 9th of March I attended Parliament to present my engineering research to a range of politicians and a panel of expert judges, as part of SET for Britain. My research poster is about developing a powered wheelchair control system using mass market imaging technology.I undertook this research as part of my role as a Clinical Scientist working at the Southeast Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology (SMART) Centre located in the Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh.”
