It was a privilege to pop in to Wilma Nelson’s retirement party at Libertus, in Gracemount.•

Libertus supports elderly people to live independently by providing a wide range of activities at the fantastic new building. The new centre was built in 2005 and has lounges, library, therapy room, art room, kitchen and meeting rooms. A far cry from 30 years ago with when Wilma ran the service out of a 2nd hand portacabin!•

Libertus not only provides services for elderly and frail people but it also provides fantastic activities for disabled children through out South Edinburgh.•

Central to all this has been Wilma’s hard work, and selfless dedication to the community. •Without her Libertus would not be what it is today. •She has transformed the lives of many local people and is an inspiration to all who know her.•

We all wish her a happy and fulfilling retirement, she will be sorely missed but deserves the rest.

Best wishes, Wilma.
