I was given a fascinating tour of the James Clerk Maxwell Museum by David Peacock and Alistair Gillespie.

James Clerk Maxwell was a Scottish scientist who formulated the theory of electromagnetic radiation paving the way for radio, television, radar and the mobile telephone. His theory brought together previously disparate elements of physics: electricity, light and magnetism.

The Museum on India Street is located at the birth place of the famous scientist and contains a plethora of heritage material associated with Maxwell. It is a must visit attraction for anyone interested in science and will inspire new generations to seek to follow in Maxwell’s footsteps.

Find out more about Maxwell on the museum’s website.
