I met up with a dedicated team of volunteers from a fantastic new initiative, Street Assist.•

Street Assist is a new project which aims to support citizens and tourists on busy Friday and Saturday nights in town. Delivered by a group of over 40 volunteers, Street Assist takes the pressure off Police and ambulance services who are free to focus on emergencies. This in turn reduces the amount of people attending Accident and Emergency.

The Street Assist Triage Welfare Bus will be based on King’s Stables Road, EH1 2JY, between the Grassmarket and Lothian Road, from 8pm to 2am each weekend.
