I joined pupils from Liberton High who are studying inequality in educational outcomes as part of their sociology course.•

We talked at length about the widening educational attainment gap in Scotland and why measures like grammar schools, pursued in England, actually perpetuate educational inequality. We also talked about access to higher education and how it is getting much more difficult for students from the most deprived backgrounds to access higher education.

Of course, we also discussed Brexit and its many permutations. It was great to join a group of such engaged pupils. Thanks to Ms Reynart for the work she does.•
