Last week constituents will have seen the heinous attack on Westminster Bridge and our Parliament. 50 people were injured and 5 died, including PC Keith Palmer, in an 82 second rampage.

I spent the afternoon in lockdown on the parliamentary estate in a Committee Room where I had arranged an All Party Group meeting on Brexit with senior members of the legal profession (including the Law Society of Scotland and 2 senior lawyers who were heavily involved in the Gina Miller case).• On such a horrifying day it was heartening to see House of Commons staff coming together to support each other.• I paid tribute to PC Keith Palmer in the House of Commons the following morning.• Thank you to all the staff, police, security and emergency services for their actions last week and for what they do every single day.
