I attended the annual Guide Dogs event at Parliament where I met with local residents and their guide dogs to talk about pavement parking.•

This is the campaign that is being run by the Guide Dogs charity.• The current laws on pavement parking are often confusing for motorists, dangerous for vulnerable road users and costly for councils who are having to repair damaged pavements. Progress needs to be made on this issue.

Back in 2014 I managed to get an amendment into the Scotland Act to devolve this responsibility to the Scottish Parliament (it was a road traffic anomaly that wasn’t devolved).• It has now been devolved and I look forward to the Scottish Parliament bringing forward proposals to minimise and prevent pavement parking.
