This month I signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment to pledge my commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day and honouring those who were murdered during the Holocaust.

We must never forget the hideous atrocities committed by the forces of fascism against European Jews and others during the Second World War. It is important we continue to bear in mind the erosion of democratic norms and the descent into state sponsored racism which occurred in 1930s Germany and laid the foundations for the systematic murder of millions.
