Britain’s richest man and leading Brexit supporter Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reported to be planning to leave the UK and move to Monaco to save money as part of a tax avoidance plan which could deprive the Exchequer of up to £4 billion in tax revenues.

Responding, Ian Murray MP, a leading supporter of People’s Vote, said:

“The shameless hypocrisy of the Brexiters knows no bounds. The people who landed Britain with this disastrous Brexit are now fleeing the country as the consequences of their ideological vanity project start to bite.

“Brexit will make us poorer and put thousands of jobs at risk while we will suffer the consequences of this sheer recklessness for generations. Yet its leading proponents – who made promises which can never be delivered – are escaping without a second thought for the misery they leave behind.

“That is why thousands of people will come together at high noon on March 23 to demand that whatever the outcome of the government’s Brexit plan in Parliament, politicians must put it to the people for a final say on Brexit.”
