Commenting on Boris Johnson’s interview with Andrew Neil, Ian Murray MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:

“This has been the week where we have been able to peer into what the future would be if Brexit is delivered by a Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“His refusal to stand up for our impartial civil servants shows he would be craven in the face of a bullying Donald Trump. He has shown he thinks our great country is now already too weak to stand up against the political intimidation of respected and hard-working public servants. And he has shown he can only dissemble to the public when faced with difficult questions about his conduct.

“It is outrageous that the decision about our country’s future in Europe is one from which the people are being excluded. Instead only the 160,000 people who are members of the Conservative Party are being given any sort of choice over Brexit. That cannot be allowed to happen in a great democracy like Britain. More and more people who care about our country and our most cherished freedoms are recognising that this decision absolutely must be given back to the people in a final say referendum on whatever comes out of the Brexit mess.”
