This summer I have been working with colleagues in the Conservatives, Green Party and Liberal Democrats on the important issue of plastic pollution. Each year more than 300 million tons of plastic are produced globally, and 10 per cent will end up in the sea. We must work together to fix this.

We initially composed a survey to ask the public how we should be tackling the issue. The responses were fantastic and really showed that people were willing to do their bit – provided the big super markets did too!
